लजीले, सकुचीले, सरसीले, सुरमीले से

Heard this verse in a monologue act 'Sahab' by Shekhar sen. It describes the eyes of Lord Krishna and the beauty of this verse is that it is composed of Adjectives and Similes only. Liked it and hence putting it here.

 

लजीले, सकुचीले, सरसीले, सुरमीले से, कटीले और कुटीले, चटकीले मटकीले हैं।

रूप के लुभीले, कजरीले, उनमीले, बरछीले, तिरछीले से फँसीले औ गँसीले हैं॥

'ललित किसोरी' झमकीले, गरबीले मानौं,  अति ही रसीले, चमकीले औ रँगीले हैं।

छबीले, छकीले, अरु नीले से, नसीले आली, नैना नंदलाल के नचीले और नुकीले हैं॥

Lajeele, Sukucheele, Sarseele, Surmeele se, Kateele aur Kuteele, chatkeele Matkeele hain

Roop ke Lubheele, Kajreele unmeele, barcheele, tircheele se faseele aur gauseele hain

'Lalit Kishori' jhamkile, garbeele manao, ati hee raseele, chamkeele aur rangeele hain,

chabeele, chakeele, aru neele se, naseele aali, naina Nandlal ke nacheele aur nukeele hain.

 A rough translation is given below:

 

they are shy, hesitant, succulent ,antimonious, thorny and crooked, bright and groovy
they are enchanting, black, mystical, spear like,oblique, trapping and copious
'lalit kishori'  they are gushing, majestic,  juicy, flashing and colorful
smart, dribbling, bluish, intoxicating, dancing and pointed are the eyes of Son of Nanada(Nandlal/Krishna)  

 

मुझे अपने शौक़ का सामां बना रखा है

जिसे  मैंने अपने दिल  में मेहमां  बना रखा है 

उसने मुझे अपने शौक़ का सामां बना रखा है
[शौक़ का सामां = an item of pleasure ]

 

 गुलपोश रहा करता था सेहन-ए-चमन मेरा  

 गुलन्दाम नें उस चमन को बियांबां बना रखा है
[गुलपोश = covered with flowers, सेहन-ए-चमन = garden in the backyard, गुलन्दाम = beauty, बियांबां  = deserted]

 

यास-ओ-उम्मीद के दरमियाँ रक्साँ  ज़िन्दगी
जुस्तुजू में मैंने भी इस रक्स को रवां बना रखा है
[ यास-ओ-उम्मीद = dispair and hope, दरमियाँ = between,रक्साँ  = dancing,  जुस्तुजू = In quest, रक्स = dance, रवां = continuous]

 

मैं मुहब्बत  में उसके हर तक्सीर को भूल जाता हूँ  

वो समझते हैं की  'मुज़्तरिब' को नादाँ बना रखा है
[तक्सीर = mistake, नादाँ = ignorant/naive ]

 

'मुज़्तरिब'

jise maine apne dil mein mehmaan banaa rakha hai
usne mujhe apne shauq ka saaman bana rakha hai
[shauq ka saaman = an item of pleasure ]

gulposh raha karta tha sehn-e-chaman mera
gulandaam ne us chaman ko biyaabaan bana rakha hai
[gulposh = covered with flowers, sehn-e-chaman = garden in the backyard, gulandaam  = beauty, biyaabaan = deserted]

yaas-o-umeed ke darmiyaan raksaan zindagee
justajuu mein maine bhee is raqs ko rawaan bana rakha hai
[ yaas-o-umeed = dispair and hope, darmiyaan = between,raksaan   = dancing,  justajuu = In quest, raqs  = dance, rawaan  = continuous]

main muhabbat mein uske har taqseer ko bhool jaata hoon
wo samjhte hain kee 'muztarib' ko naadaan banaa rakha hai
[taqseer = mistake, naadaan = ignorant/naive ]

'Muztarib'

جسے  مہینے   اپنے دل  میں  مہماں  بنا  رکھا  ہے 
اسنے  مجھے  اپنے  شوق   کا سماں  بنا  رکھا  ہے 

گلپوش  رہا  کرتا  تھا  سہن ے چمن  میرا 
گلاندام  نیں اس  چمن  کو  بیاباں  بنا  رکھا  ہے 

یاس و  امید   کے  درمیان رقساں    زندگی
 زستزُو میں  مہینے  بھی  اسس  رقص  کو   رواں بنا  رکھا  ہے 

میں  محبّت  میں  اسکے   ہر تقصیر  کو  بھول   جاتا ہوں 
 وو سمجھتے  ہیں  کی  'مضطرب'  کو  نادان  بنا  رکھا  ہے
